Here are photos of the newly installed stainless-steel countertops and shelving for the kitchen. Volunteer Mercedes Diener prepares the desserts to be served on the new countertop in front of the serving window. The expanded kitchen allows a corner workspace with countertops, a sink and shelving, as well as a larger work island to make a more efficient kitchen. Mark Stephens, volunteer and a guest at Pete’s Place, stands in front of the new work area for the dishwasher with the freezer and wall shelves behind him. Still to come in the kitchen renovation, to the excitement of the many groups who cook here: a commercial griddle that will help prepare all sorts of yummy dishes.
